John 3:16-17
“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
“For God did not send the Son into the world, in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence in) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.”
John 3:16 is probably the most widely known Bible verse.
The Amplified Bible says, God, "greatly loved the world".
He "dearly prized the world".
He loved us so much He sent His Son.
And all we have to do is believe in His Son to claim the eternal prize of everlasting life.
Believing is the most powerful thing we can do here on earth.
And not just because we are gifted eternal life in heaven.
Believing that Jesus came and died for us saves us from living a pitiful life now.
Jesus’ sacrifice gifts us God’s presence now.
He transforms our hearts and subsequently our lives as we walk in His Light.
We are One with God as His Holy Spirit resides in us.
Believing requires more than we might think.
It requires action.
The Amplified Bible defines the word believe as: "trusts in, clings to, relies on".
Even when our circumstances look impossible, the Word calls us to trust.
We are told to "cling to" our Savior when things get difficult.
And believing means to rely on His perfect watchful eye over us.
On the other side of these actionable items, we are given eternal life and made safe and sound through Him.
Today I choose to believe in, trust in, cling to, and rely on God's Son to cover my sins and make me safe and sound.
May you find as you believe in Jesus, trust in Him, cling to Him, and rely on Him that He will care for you in every way and make you safe and sound as well.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for loving me so much that You sent Your Son to save me from myself, grant me eternal life, and make me safe and sound. Thank You, Father, for such a great sacrifice. Thank You, Jesus, for being willing to leave heaven's door to live in this world of pain and suffering. Thank You for coming here knowing You would have to die to save me. Thank You for every sacrifice You made while You were here. You came in all humbleness and died in all disgrace to give me all the grace. Undeserving of such sacrifice, thank You. Thank You for showing me the kind of love heaven is made of. When I get weak and weary, help me believe in You and all the power You hold. There is no one stronger than You. There is no one more able than You. And there is no one Who can love like You. May Your love fill my spirit so I can love as You do. Help me bless someone today. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM the Great I AM and My love for My people is greater and deeper than all the love you have ever known.
Response: Undeserving of such a love as this, thank You, Lord God Almighty.
