Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]
I think one of the most powerful messages recorded in the Bible is in chapter eight in the book of Romans.
Paul covers all the reasons we have the right and ability to live according to the Spirit.
He talks about the Holy Spirit coming to our aid.
He talks about the Lord choosing us to know Him.
In our verse today Paul reminds us that God is always for us.
Almighty God, Himself, has gone to great measure to make us His and He will take care of us as His.
Just as we care for our own children and will go to extraordinary measures to make sure they are safe, the Lord cares for us.
We know for certain nothing can come against us that we cannot fight because the Lord is with us.
The enemy cannot withstand the Lord’s power and might.
Luke 10:19 says, “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.”
Because of Christ, we have this Holy Spirit power.
Because of Christ, He lives in us.
Because of Christ, we know we are loved beyond measure.
No matter how difficult things look in our little corner of the world, we serve an Almighty God, and He is for us.
He is, and will always be, for you and for me.
Today I choose to stand on God’s Word that there is no foe who can stand against me because the Lord covers me in all ways.
May you find that the Lord is for you and will not let any enemy stand against you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for Your Word that tells us You are for us. In a world where chaos continues to thrive, You are with us. You are our Strength. You are our High Tower. You cover us. Thank You protecting us and the families You have given us. Thank You for Your Word that continues to encourage us even when we feel we may fall short. Thank You for sending Your Son to give His life so we may sit at Your feet and be ministered to by You. Thank You for Your constant watch over us. Help us reach out and care for others knowing You are taking care of all we need, Lord. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: You are Mine, sayeth the Lord, and I will take care of you.
Response: Thank You, most gracious and loving Father. In Jesus’ name, amen.
