II Timothy 1:14
Guard and keep [with the greatest care] the precious and excellently adapted [Truth] which has been entrusted [to you], by the [help of the] Holy Spirit Who makes His home in us.
Paul told Timothy to guard and protect his faith – his Truth.
Not just guard it but he was to keep watch over it “with the greatest care” for it was precious.
Our faith is precious.
And it hasn’t just been given to us, it has been entrusted to us.
The Lord knit us together according to His plan.
We are completely His, and everything about us is His.
In the Old Testament, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart for His purpose.
He showed Himself magnificent to His own people and to the Egyptians.
He did this with every plague He brought upon them and then in delivering His people.
Just as He hardened Pharaoh’s heart for His purpose, He has softened ours and called us to be His.
He handpicked us to be His.
And by His grace we are made clean in His sight.
So, our faith is a gift, and His Word is our source of Truth.
Let us guard it with all our might.
We have to fight to keep our faith strong.
Fight to make God number one in our lives because the world is so full of distractions.
The enemy does his best to distract us long enough, so we don’t have time to do the one thing God calls us to do: worship Him.
The Great Commandment tells us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind.
Let us push hard against the distractions that take us away from the Lord and guard our faith with our lives.
Today I choose to hold fast to the faith the Lord has given me and lean into worshiping the One Who made me His.
May you guard your faith for it is a gift to preserve, protect, and cultivate.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for the faith You have put in our hearts. Thank You for Your Word that reminds us to guard, cling to, and hold close to it. Do not let the worries of this world steal our belief in You. You are our strength, our provider, and our protector. You rescue us from evil. Increase our faith in You so we do not fall into the temptations of this world. Help us lean on and rely on You for our every need, Father. Keep our eyes on You instead of the distractions around us. Keep our hearts longing after You, Lord. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: I AM the Great I AM, and there is nothing besides Me that will fully satisfy you.
Response: Thank You for choosing us to know You. Keep us seeking You, almighty God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
