Psalm 68:19 and 35
“Blessed be the Lord, Who bears our burdens and carries us day by day, even the God Who is our salvation! Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!”
“O God, awe-inspiring, profoundly impressive, and terrible are You out of Your holy places; the God of Israel Himself gives strength and fullness of might to His people. Blessed be God!”
King David reminds us Whose we are.
We are kept by God.
Preciously taken care of and carried by our Lord.
When my children were small, they needed my help.
What seemed easy for me was difficult for them and I did not hesitate to help them with anything they needed.
I always came to their aid.
They needed help even with fun and adventurous activities like going to the zoo.
They would tire easily and want me to hold them.
I was their strength and comfort.
Similarly, God is our strength and comfort.
He does not hesitate to come to our aid.
As the difficulties in our lives mount up and become too heavy for us, God is standing by to help us.
Our passage tells us He “bears our burdens and carries us day by day.”
I am thankful the Lord bears my burdens today.
Thankful He lifts me up and carries me when I am weary.
The Word also tells us the Lord gives us strength.
Not just strength, but He gives us “fullness of might”.
A mighty strength.
The fullest mighty strength.
We are not weak and undone when trials come and try to steal our joy and peace, for the Lord is with us.
He is the mightiest of mighty.
He is the strongest of strong.
There is nothing He cannot do and nothing He won’t help us with.
Today I choose God’s strength and might knowing the Lord bears my burdens and carries me day by day.
May you find the Lord is carrying you through all the trials and difficulties of this world as He strengthens you with His power and might.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for reminding me Whose I am. Thank You for reminding me You lift the burdens I bear and carry me through this life’s trials. Thank You for strengthening me with Your power and might. Thank You for Your Word which shows me all these things. Thank You that I can freely read Your Word and worship You, Lord. You are the God of this universe and God of my heart. You fill me with Your Holy Spirit and lead and guide me back to You all the days of my life. Help me seek you first, Lord. Help me seek You over seeking this world. Help me seek Your love above all else. Help me be obedient to You in all ways. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM watching over you My child and will care for you in all ways.
Response: Thank You Almighty and most gracious God.
