His Family Didn’t Support Him

John 7:4-5
“For no one does anything in secret when he wishes to be conspicuous and secure publicity. If You [must] do these things [if You must act like this], show Yourself openly and make Yourself known to the world!”
“For [even] His brothers did not believe in or adhere to or trust in or rely on Him either.”
Rejection.
We are all rejected by people in this lifetime.
Even Jesus was rejected by His family.
The ones closest to Him, who had probably seen Him do miracles that were never written down for us to read, did not believe in Him.
However, rejection didn’t stop Jesus from doing what the Lord sent Him here to this earth to do.
He obeyed God with His every deed and word.
Imagine how hard it must have been to keep quiet about His real calling in life while He was growing up.
Imagine knowing He was the Son of God and living a normal life up until the time He would start His three-year ministry which would lead to His death.
Imagine knowing that miracle after miracle would come from His hand and yet He learned the craft of carpentry to make a living.
Jesus was humble.
He was merciful.
He gave grace to all those who believed in Him.
He healed the sick.
He deeply cared for His disciples and friends.
He was a prayer warrior and intercessor.
He willingly and boldly walked to the cross.
He was the Messiah.
And, He was rejected.
As I experience rejection in the world around me, I pray the Lord keeps me strong and steadfast, so I follow His every command as He holds my heart.
Today I choose to follow Jesus’ example of being humble, kind, loving, caring, and yet strong and bold for the Lord in the face of whatever rejection comes my way.
May you find the Lord will strengthen you when rejection comes and help you still love and serve those around you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for showing me that rejection does not have to stop me doing Your will, and does not have to affect how I behave toward others. Lord, please help me do what You ask of me. Strengthen me in every way so I can do Your will above all else. Keep my heart soft toward You and make me bold in what I do for You. Help me do Your will, Father. Thank You for Your perfect plan. Keep me humble and merciful as Your Son was and put Your love in my heart for all people. May I serve with joy and may Your grace be upon me. Help me hear Your whispers and obey Your commands in all ways. Thank You, Lord, for watching over and protecting me and the family You have given me. Thank You for providing for all our needs. Thank You, Father, for every blessing You have given us and for every blessing You have planned for us. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I will never reject you nor forsake you as My child and will strengthen you to do all I ask of you.
Response: I look to You for all I need and desire, Lord.
