John 10:9-10
“I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved. He will come in and he will go out [freely] and will find pasture.”
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
I love that He refers to Himself as the Door to salvation.
He says we are free to come in and out and freely graze in His pasture.
Well, this sounds so peaceful and lovely.
I would love a good walk and graze in a pasture about now.
He also tells us He came to give us a life we enjoy.
A life abundant in joy.
So much joy that it will overflow.
Then He says the enemy does the opposite.
He comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
Steal our joy.
Kill, destroy, and stomp on our joy.
But then Jesus tells He is the Good Shepherd.
He is the One Who will lie down His life for us in order for us to have our lives and enjoy them abundantly.
This gave me pause to reflect upon my life.
Reflect on the areas where joy is absent.
It also gave me pause to think about areas where joy is abundant.
It’s important to take inventory of both this time of year.
It helps us make changes as we end this year and move into a new one.
Changes to help reestablish joy where it is lacking.
Identify areas where the enemy is attempting to thwart God’s plan.
Where he is working to steal a good thing from us the Lord intended us to have.
Then we can look at overcoming the obstacles stealing our joy and get back into God’s flow.
Today I choose to find joy in all the Lord calls me to do and graze in His pasture as I am able.
May you find abundant joy as the Lord guides you through this life.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for sending Your Son to offer me salvation, peace, and joy. Thank You for sending Him to rescue me from the enemy’s attempts to steal my joy and destroy what You intended for my life. Your grace is so undeserved, Lord. Your love is so deep. Thank You for creating me to be Yours from the beginning of time and making a way for that to happen. Thank You for choosing me to be Yours. Help me receive the gifts You so generously offer, Lord. Help me rest in Your peace even amidst the chaos. May You continue to watch over me and the family You have given me. May Your provision be abundant. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you My child and you will always be Mine.
Response: Undeserving to be called a child of Yours, thank You, Almighty God and Father.
