Daily Word:
John 1:10-11
"He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]."
"He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own - His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him."
I have listened to many message and sermons over the years where the pastor has talked about Jesus and how He knows our every struggle.
He knows our struggles because He lived them.
However, until I started really studying the Word I wasn't sure how that was possible.
I wasn't finding His life as relatable to mine as some pastor's suggested.
After all, my days had some lovely moments in them, but they also had a lot of very difficult moments in them as well.
How could Jesus' life be like mine?
And then I read about Him being tempted by the devil.
Even at the end of that temptation, the Word says the enemy left Jesus until a more opportune time.
So, He would be tempted again even though those times weren't written about.
I have also found a few verses which indicate that Jesus may not have enjoyed His gypsy type life.
He had no home to go to every night.
The Bible says, "He had no place to lay His head".
The Word tells us that He cried over the loss of a friend.
He also became frustrated over a tree that didn't bear fruit.
He had to develop a team - His disciples.
And, here in the first chapter of John, He was not welcomed.
The chosen people whom He loved, rejected Him.
Most of us have been rejected by people we have loved.
Jesus was no exception to this heartache.
He grieved over the hard heartedness of the chosen people.
It seems that Jesus did experience many of the things I have experienced.
Today I find that Jesus' life is much more relatable to mine than I had previously thought, and so I bring to Him every care and worry that I have because He knows my pain.
May you find that Jesus is your cheerleader, intercessor, and champion of your life.
Blessings be to you!
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for sending Your Son to teach me and share Himself with the world. Thank You for His wisdom and the life He gave to save us all. Thank You for the little nuggets You continue to show me in Your Word. Help me know more of You and Your ways. I desire to learn more and more every day, and You are so faithful to that desire. As I focus on You, the cares of this world become dim. You carry me every time and everywhere in all things. Thank You, Lord, for continually watching over and protecting me. I am undeserving of such time and attention by You, the Creator of all. But You continue to care for me as if I was Your only child. Help me care as You do, Father. Put Your love in me so that I can love as You do. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you always, My child.
Response: Thank You, most gracious and mighty God.
