Luke 14:2-4
“And behold, [just] in front of Him there was a man who had dropsy.”
“And Jesus asked the lawyers and the Pharisees, Is it lawful and right to cure on the Sabbath or not?”
“But they kept silent. Then He took hold [of the man] and cured him and sent him away.”
Jesus knew the hearts of the Pharisees.
He knew they were cold and without compassion.
He knew they wrongly judged Him for healing on the Sabbath.
These men followed the Law but were not guided by God in their hearts.
They couldn’t see that, although it was the Sabbath, doing good was the right thing to do.
Even though Jesus was opposed to the Pharisees, He wasn’t deterred in His mission.
He knew His mission was to heal the sick and bring Good News to the poor.
He knew His mission was to save the world even if they didn’t fully understand.
They weren’t able to receive the kingdom of heaven the way Jesus wanted them to.
And Jesus was disappointed in their response to Him.
His own people disowned Him.
We may find ourselves in similar situations.
We may be disappointed in the ones we love at times.
We may feel our friends and loved ones should be the ones who ‘get us’ and encourage us.
However, God’s plan for us is meant for us not them.
So, we must continue to good just as Jesus did.
He never stopped healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, or sharing God’s message.
He did these things when no one was looking and He did them when everyone was looking, whether they approved or not.
So, we must continue walking in God’s plan for our lives.
Today I choose to walk closely with God and be obedient to Him as He leads and guides my path.
May you find God is leading and guiding you into His perfect plan and will give you the strength to carry it out.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank you for Your perfect plan for my life. Thank You for leading and guiding my steps today and the promise of Your guidance for tomorrow. Father, as the world churns and turns in chaos, may Your peace rest upon me. May I sit in Your presence and be covered in Your love. May Your Spirit fill mine to overflowing as Jesus promised. May my spirit be acceptable for Yours to reside in. You are the God of the universe and God of my heart. Thank You for choosing me to know You and worship You, Lord. Thank You for calling me to Your table to feast at. You are the Giver of all good things, Lord. Help me receive all You have to give. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you My child and have great plans for your life. I have plans to bless you with all good things.
Response: Thank You, most gracious and merciful Lord.
