Daily Word:
Psalm 143:6,8
"I spread forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You like a thirsty land [for water]. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!"
"Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You."
This psalm was written by King David.
He constantly sought God.
He wrote the psalms in good times and in bad.
These verses come at a time when he was greatly struggling.
And, yet, he continued to seek God.
He also asked God to help him.
When his situation looked extremely bleak, he asked God to make him to hear His loving-kindness.
He said he leaned on God.
He trusted God.
And he asked the Lord to show him the way.
I love the very last part of the last sentence, "for I lift up my inner self to You."
Our inner selves are the deepest part of our souls.
This is the place where God touches our spirit.
I, too, desire that God would lead me.
That He would lead me to Him.
That He would direct my steps and take control of my inner self.
Today I choose to rely on God for everything and pray that He causes me to come close to Him and direct me in everything I do.
May you find that He causes you to come near Him and will lead and guide you in all that you do.
Blessings be to you!
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for choosing me to know You. Thank You for calling me to You, Lord. Thank You for loving me through all my faults and sins. You see a beauty in me that others cannot see. So, You continue to work on me and show me more of You. Just when I think I know You, I learn something more. And I realize that it will take a lifetime to know You more - to know You better. Grant me the lifetime that it takes to see You more clearly. Put in me more love, compassion, faith, and wisdom. Help me trust in You more and more every day. I love watching You work in my life. May Your peace be sufficient to cover all my worries and anxiety. Help me set aside the cares of this world for You, Lord. Help me give every part of me to You. Help me bless someone today, Father. Thank you for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I desire your heart, My child, and I will take care of everything else.
