Love One Another
Daily Word:
John 15:12 and 17
“This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you.”
“This is what I command you: that you love one another.
Jesus was teaching the disciples once again.
He was teaching them about abiding in Him and following His commands.
This one command was given by Jesus twice in the fifteen chapter of John.
He gave no other commands here besides, “love one another”.
He was also telling them that they would not be able to bear fruit if they were not wholly united with Him.
I believe it is the same today.
Love is the greatest command.
It is also the most difficult.
Oh, it is easy to love those that love us back.
But what about those who are unlovely toward us.
What about our enemies?
Those who bully us.
Those who are in direct opposition to us.
Those who think and act differently that we do.
Those who hurt us.
How do we love these people?
In these days and times there is much division.
Still, Jesus calls us to love.
The Bible says that love covers all.
It covers all of our shortcomings.
All of our failures.
All of our mistakes.
Jesus died so that all of our sins are forgiven.
His love covered us and carries us to the Almighty.
So I pray that He will help me love those who aren’t easy to love.
I cannot accomplish Jesus’ command without His help.
Today I pray that God fills me with His love so that I may love all of whom He created.
May you find that He will pour His love into your soul so that you are overflowing with the love the covers all.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for all You do and all You are. Thank You for Your love that so completely fills my soul. Thank You for Your love that covers all my sins - past, present, and future. Thank You for the kind of love that sees me as perfect just the way I am. You formed me, loved me, and made me. I pray that You continue to grow me up the way You intend me to be. Ready me in every way for Your service. Help me be all that You desire me to be, Lord. Fill my soul with Your love so full that it spills over to everyone You put in front of me today. Help me love others as You love me. I can only do that with Your help. I am unable to love on my own. But Your love is perfect and complete and covers all. Thank You for sending Your Son so that I can sit in Your presence where You love me and change me at the same time. Keep me in Your care today, Lord. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
