Daily Word:
Habukkuk 3:19
“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!”
In my search for encouragement today I found myself in the Old Testament.
Habukkuk, prophet in the Old Testament, was having a conversation with God.
He was asking God why He wasn’t answering his prayers.
Why was there so much injustice without God’s intervention?
God responded to Habukkuk the way I believe He would respond to our same questions today.
“Look around among the nations and see! And be astonished! Astounded! For I am putting into effect a work in your days [such] that you would not believe it if it were told you.”
God is up to something for sure.
We don’t know what it is.
But He is up to something in our world.
Habukkuk ends the book with praise unto God.
He says, “The Lord is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army;”.
I find that I need a new allocation of God’s strength and bravery every single day.
I take comfort in thinking about the Lord and His angels as my, “invincible army”.
Habukkuk also says that God made his feet like, “hinds’ feet”.
A hind is a female deer that is able to climb difficult terrain that most others cannot.
With God’s strength we are able to endure difficulties and climb mountains that others cannot.
Our verse also tells us that the Lord helps us continue to move forward even when we are terrified.
The Lord helps us grow spiritually during times of trouble, times of trial and suffering.
So, let us rejoice in these days knowing that the Lord is our Strength, and that He is helping us every step of the way.
Today I choose to believe in God’s perfect plan and pray for the strength to move forward in the direction that He tells me to go.
May you find that the Lord with strengthen you and support you during these difficult times as His plan is still in motion.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for being my Strength. Thank You for Your perfect plan that is far beyond my comprehension. Thank You for showing me that Your plan is still the plan for all time and that You are working out everything perfectly according to Your glory. Thank You for helping me grow during the difficulties and trials that are upon me. Thank You for helping me move through them as You are my guide, my strength, and my courage. Help me learn all that I need to learn to move forward to the next spiritual level, Lord. Please help me dig in and do all that You desire for me to do. Don’t let me back down in fear. Instill in me a greater faith in You, Lord. Lift me up when I fall down and sturdy my steps as I walk into the unknown. Thank You for being my All in All. Thank You for never leaving me abandoned. Thank You for assuring me that You are the God of the universe and the God of my heart. May I bend to You, always. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM the Great I AM and My will shall be done.
