Unto us a Child is Born
Luke 2:4-7
“And Joseph also went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the town of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David.”
“To be enrolled with Mary, his espoused (married) wife, who was about to become a mother.”
“And while they were there, the time came for her delivery.”
“And she gave birth to her Son, her Firstborn; and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room or place for them in the inn.”
God made Himself flesh so He could take away the sins of the world.
The story of the very first Christmas was humble, yet the most powerful and loving birth ever recorded in history.
All humanity changed in an instant.
When Jesus was born, love filled the earth.
Love came down and lifted us up.
The angels came to tell the shepherds of this beautiful birth.
The stars in the heavens also told the story.
As we do all the tasks that we do to ensure a beautiful Christmas day, may we remember the miracle God sent long ago.
The miracle of all miracles.
The miracle which restored the relationship between God in the heavens and us humans.
We are able to sit in God’s presence.
His Holy Spirit resides in ours.
We are One with Him again.
Today I am so very grateful Jesus was born to Mary and the world was changed forever.
May you find a few precious moments to praise the Lord for His plan to reestablish love here on this earth.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your grace and mercy as You sent Your Son to be born this day so long ago. Thank You for creating the perfect plan to save me and all people from our sins. Thank You for this beautiful story we read about and tell every year at this most special time of year. Even inside of the chaos of this world Your grace and love shine through to us. Thank You, Father, for always making a way for us to see You and feel Your love. Thank You for Your tender mercies we find in each new day. Help us see You in all we do today. Help us feel Your strong arms lifting us closer to You. Help us hear Your gentle whispers this day of all days. Thank You, Father, for Your tender care of us. Help us bless someone today. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
