I Corinthians 1:9
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
This is a simple yet very profound verse.
“God is faithful.”
Even though I think I understand the word, I know I don’t fully comprehend it.
That is because there is nothing on this earth that is representative of such a word.
Nothing is fail-proof.
So, how can we understand the word faithful?
We truly do not understand God’s ways.
But we grow in relationship with Him over a lifetime.
Little by little we see more of Him.
Little by little we feel more of His love.
And little by little we see His faithfulness to us.
His faithfulness is certainly demonstrated in His Word.
He was faithful to Noah and his family.
He was faithful to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
He was faithful to Moses and His people as He set them free from bondage in Egypt.
He was faithful to David.
And He was faithful to every one of us as He sent His Son to save us and restore us to Himself.
Our verse today also says that He calls us into companionship with His Son.
Again, I am in awe.
We have never been loved so perfectly, so purely, and so wonderfully as by the Lord, God Almighty, and His Son.
Today I choose to be wildly grateful to the Lord for His faithfulness to me and His love for me.
May you find the Lord loves you purely and fully and that He is ever so faithful to You.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness to us that goes above and beyond our comprehension of it. Thank You for loving us so purely and perfectly. There is no one on this earth who can love us as You do. Thank You, Father, for choosing us to know You and worship You. Please keep us Yours, Father, for now and through eternity. Do not let us move away from You. Keep us seeking You all the days of our lives. Help us come to know You more each day and accept the fullness of Your love. As imperfect as this world is today, we find it difficult to always feel the perfection of Your love. Flood our us spirit with Your Holy Spirit and help us share You with others, Lord. Help bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: I AM the Great I AM, and I love you. My plan is for all people to know Me and worship me.
Response: Keep us Yours, Lord, and help us share Your love with others. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
