I Corinthians 1:8-9
“And He will establish you to the end [keep you steadfast, give you strength, and guarantee your vindication; He will be your warrant against all accusation or indictment so that you will be [guiltless and irreproachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).”
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
There are so many promises of God here in these two verses.
And all of these promises are fulfilled through Christ.
First, He will establish us.
The word establish means to achieve permanent acceptance.
It’s amazing to think about being permanently accepted into God’s kingdom.
In a world where nothing is permanent, I am thankful God keeps me His above all else.
God keeps us steadfast and unwavering.
He strengthens us when we feel weak.
He guarantees our righteousness through His Son.
He is our justification, so we are not held guilty.
Oh, the freedom we have in Christ.
Admittedly, I don’t always live in this freedom, so I am thankful Paul gives us pause to do so even for a minute.
The challenge is to live in this freedom continually.
Paul also tells us how reliable and trustworthy God is.
He tells us we can depend on Him which is a lost quality in our world today.
Lastly, Almighty God called us to be in relationship with Him.
And not just relationship.
He calls us to participate with Him in His Son’s gift.
Participate in the freedom from the bondage of sin.
Participate in His power.
Participate in His glory.
And, once again, I am amazed at what the Lord has done for us in sending His Son to be sacrificed so all these promises and more could be fulfilled.
Today I choose to praise God for His glory and grace that He so abundantly pours over our lives.
May you praise the Lord for His abundant promises fulfilled through the sacrifice of His Son.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your promises. Thank You for sending Your Son to fulfill them so completely, and for allowing me to be permanently part of Your kingdom. Thank You for keeping me Yours through eternity, Lord. Thank You for steadying my steps and strengthening me when I am weary. Thank You for holding me guiltless even when I miss the mark. Forgive my shortcomings, Lord, and help me step into Your perfect will. Help me depend more on You, Father. May there be less of me and more of You. You are my Rock and my Salvation. On You I can depend. Thank You for choosing me to know You and worship You. Keep me seeking You all the days of my life, Lord. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you My child and you will always be Mine.
Response: Thank You for keeping me Yours, Almighty God and gracious Father.
