I Thessalonians 5:24
Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].
Life is messy, and sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever get it right.
Day after day I fall short which is so discouraging.
But then we read Paul’s encouraging words here in this passage.
God is faithful to us.
He draws us to Himself.
There is no mistaking it.
We don’t accidentally find Him.
We don’t just bump into Him like we bump into a stranger who may eventually become a good friend.
He has always had a plan to draw us closer to Him.
He could have chosen us for a different purpose.
God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to show Himself magnificent to His people.
Yes, the Lord showed Himself as the all-powerful and almighty God that He is when He parted the Red Sea.
We can be thankful we weren’t dealt Pharaoh’s hand.
We can praise Him for choosing us to know Him, drawing us closer to Him, and putting worship our hearts for Him.
He did this.
He led us to Himself.
And if that isn’t enough to celebrate, Paul tells us He will fulfill His calling of us and make us holy.
This is grace, and another magnificent feat done by our Lord.
Lastly, He will keep us His forever.
We can rest in His arms today knowing we are His and He is doing a work in us.
Today I choose to praise God for choosing me to be His and worship Him as He continues to work in my spirit.
May you feel God’s love permeate your spirit and fill you with all good things from His abundant storehouses in heaven.
Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for choosing us to be Yours. Thank You for calling us to You and drawing us closer to You. Father, we are powerless to grow in Your Truth without Your help. We cannot do better or be better without You. Fill our spirit with Yours and help us drink from the waters that never run dry. May we worship You with all reverence today and call out Your holy name. You are great and greatly to be praised! Continue Your work in us, Lord. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Answer: You are Mine, sayeth the Lord. Rest in Me.
Response: Thank You, most merciful and gracious God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
