It’s All About Perspective

Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).
It’s all about perspective.
There are times I get so tired of doing the same things over and over again.
Mostly household tasks like kitchen duty.
We get hungry three times a day.
So, we have to plan for those three times a day and plan to clean-up.
If we don’t take the time to clean up, the next time in the kitchen is just more difficult.
Kitchen tasks aren’t necessarily things I enjoy doing.
But Paul tells us we should do everything unto the Lord.
There may be things in your life that you don’t enjoy doing.
Different things than are on my list.
As we read Paul’s words our minds shift from negative to positive.
Our spirits shift as well.
We can do these necessary tasks and offer them as service to the Lord.
In all actuality, I should be thankful there is food in our refrigerator to cook.
There’s a perspective changer.
God is in charge of everything.
He already knows our days before we live them.
If He had ordained someone to cook and clean for me, then that person would already be in my home.
The Lord gives us strength to do what is front of us every day, and He can give us a heart to enjoy it all.
Maybe we can help a little by changing our perspective.
Today I choose to serve with a grateful heart and offer my service as it is done unto the Lord.
May you find the Lord grants you the ability to serve as He gives you the strength and joy to serve.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for Your Word that reminds us everything we do for those around us is actually done unto You. May we offer our work up to You today. Help us serve You well, Father. Put joy in our hearts as we serve and help us not tire of the daily tasks that are ahead. May we be grateful for all the people and all the things You have given us to care for. May our hearts be acceptable in Your sight, O God. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: I AM with you, and I will care for you while you care for others.
Response: Thank You for Your continued watch over us, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
