Purchased with Preciousness

I Corinthians 7:23-24
“You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for by Christ]; then do not yield yourselves up to become [in your own estimation] slaves to men [but consider yourselves slaves to Christ].”
“So, brethren, in whatever station or state or condition of life each one was when he was called, there let him continue with and close to God.”
Paul was giving instructions to the church of Corinth.
He had been advising them about the state of being married or the state of remaining single.
However, as I read these verses, I believed them to be universal truths.
Our beings, our souls, and our spirits were bought with the price of the Son of God’s life.
We were bought with an enormous amount of grace.
We were bought with a precious price.
I am thankful that the Lord made a way for me to know Him and be in relationship with Him.
There is nothing here on earth that can replace this relationship.
There is no one on this earth that can love me the way the Lord loves me.
So, I am extremely grateful for the precious price it cost to make this so.
Secondly, Paul tells the church to be content with their station in life.
We can find contentment in whatever station we find ourselves in as well.
This is another universal truth or spiritual truth.
Being content with our lot in life allows us to live in the moment.
Yes, the Lord gives us dreams and helps us along our way to achieving them.
However, as I read our verses today, I found that I need to be content with what He gives me now as well as His future plans for me.
When I become agitated, disgruntled, and dissatisfied my demeanor does not exemplify the person that the Lord asks me to be.
I must be truly thankful for every place He puts me in and remain in close relationship with the Lord.
Just as Paul said, “in whatever station or state or condition of life each one was when he was called, there let him continue with and close to God”.
Today I choose to be thankful the Lord has me exactly where I am and will continue to seek Him and my relationship with Him as He leads me along this path of life.
May you find that you are satisfied with your station in life, can be thankful to the Lord for where you are, and continue to seek Him and His plan for you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for reminding me to be thankful for where You have me in life. Thank You for working out everything perfectly according to Your plan. Help me continue to be thankful for Your plan and release any ideas or plans of my own that don’t fit into Yours. Help me seek You in all ways, Lord. Keep me close to You, Lord. Please keep me from stumbling or seeking my own way over Yours. Light the path that You ask me to take and help me follow it. Thank You, Father, for your continued leading and guidance. May Your will be done. Help me serve You as You ask of me. Help me love Your people. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with You, My child, and have a great plan for your life.
Response: Above all else, help me follow You, Lord.
