She Believed
Matthew 15:25-28
“But she came and, kneeling, worshiped Him and kept praying, Lord, help me!”
“And He answered, It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
“She said, yes, Lord, yet even the little pups eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”
“Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment.”
Jesus healed this woman’s daughter.
Not because of anything this woman did but because of what she had.
She had faith.
She had belief Jesus could heal her daughter.
But Jesus was reluctant to help her.
He was reluctant because He came for the Israelites not the Canaanites.
He told the woman, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
Still, she pushed Him.
She leaned into her plea even when Jesus didn’t want to grant her what she asked.
But He eventually conceded and gave her what she asked for.
He said, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish.”
She believed beyond Jesus’ objections.
She leaned into His no and received healing for her daughter.
Her faith and desire were greater than His resistance.
This woman teaches us a big lesson.
First, lean into what we desire.
Second, ask God for His help.
Third, believe He can.
Believe He can and will help us.
If she can pursue her greatest desire past Jesus’ objection, then we can certainly pursue our desires past mere earthly objections.
Today I pray the Lord will fan the flame He has burning in my soul and help me be determined to follow Him where He calls me to go.
May you find the Lord fans the flame within your soul, so you are filled with Holy Ghost power and strength today!
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit within me. Thank You for showing me there is nothing You cannot do. Lord, help me look to You when this world tries to tell me who I am. Constantly remind me Whose I am. I pray You fan the flame burning in my soul. Put determination, perseverance, and stamina in my heart and mind. Keep me walking down the path You ask me walk. Help me be courageous and move through obstacles with ease. May Your Spirit flow through and in me. You are the Light unto my path and the joy in my life. May You always keep me close, Lord. Don’t let me wander from Your will. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you, My child, and My Spirit is within you. Everything you need is within you.
