I Timothy 2:5-6
For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
Who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time.
Paul mentored Timothy who became a co-laborer with him in Christ.
He begins the chapter advising Timothy to pray for everyone, even kings, because God desires everyone be saved.
And then our passage tells us there is only one God and one Mediator between us and God Who is Jesus.
Yes, Jesus intervenes on our behalf.
He intercedes for us through prayer and petition.
And He shed His blood for us so that we are made right in God’s eyes.
As I was spending time with the Lord very early one morning, I wondered if we had used up all His grace by now.
After all, it was over two thousand years ago that Jesus came and died for our sins.
Does His act of pure love still cover us today?
Of course, it does.
God’s grace is more than sufficient for us today just as it was thousands of years ago.
I wrote a song which was inspired by God that day and share the lyrics with you here.
That’s What Forever’s For
Do Your hands still bear the scars that set me free?
Does the blood You shed back then still cover me?
In the stillness of the night, I hear You say,
That’s what forever’s for,
That’s what forever’s for.
Forever more.
Forever saved.
Forever loved.
By the One Who so freely gave His life.
I heard Him say to me,
That’s what forever’s for.
Forever more.
Does the cross still bear the burdens of my life?
Does the blood still wash all my sins away?
In the stillness of the night, I hear You say,
That’s what forever’s for,
That’s what forever’s for.
Forever more.
Forever saved.
Forever loved.
By the One Who so freely gave His life.
I heard Him say to me,
That’s what forever’s for.
Forever more.

Yes, my friend, you are saved, and I am saved.
Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for making a way for us to be in relationship with You. Thank You for sacrificing Your Son for us so that we could be clean in Your sight. Help us receive Your love, Father. Don’t let us push You away or hold You off for one more day. May we receive the fullness of Your love today, Lord. May Your grace flow over our souls and Your peace wrap around us like a blanket. May we feel Your presence as we worship You. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer
Answer: I love you, and My Spirit is within you.
Response: Help us receive You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
