Daily Word:
II Peter 3:9
“The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.”
God is patient.
This scripture says, “extraordinarily patient”.
In our fast-paced society, being patient is a lost art.
I’m not even sure I fully understand the word anymore.
The word, patience, has lost meaning.
It is difficult to comprehend, difficult to understand, and certainly difficult to carry out.
But God hasn’t lost its meaning.
Our scripture says that God does not delay.
And, yet, sometimes I think He is delaying my answers to prayer, my requests, my desires, and the promises He has made to me.
Sometimes it seems like everything is in slow motion.
There seems to be no forward movement.
However, our scripture assures us this is not the case.
It says, “He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you”.
So, maybe I am the one who needs changing before my circumstances change.
Or, maybe there is someone or something that needs to change before God’s perfect plan can be executed.
He may not be waiting on me, but for the perfect time to roll out His perfect plan.
He desires for everyone to be in a state of repentance.
He is waiting for the greater good – not just my timetable.
Jesus once told the disciples that people from of old had prayed and waited for what they were then a part of.
The disciples were the chosen ones to be at His side.
I must know that God’s plan is exceedingly better than my plan, and I must humble myself and honor His perfect plan above my own.
Today I choose to bow before the Almighty and pray for His perfect timing and His perfect plan be done for the benefit of all His chosen people.
May you find that as you give yourself to the Lord that He will most assuredly work all things together for your good and for the good of all His people.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your perfect plan. Thank You for Your patience in seeing Your perfect will through to the end – even to the end of all time. May Your will be done above my own. May Your desires become my desires. May all Your chosen people come to You, bow down to You, and repent and change their ways. May we all worship and praise Your name, Lord. You are greatly to be praised! You, the Creator of this world and all that is in it, desire worship praise, and relationship. You desire relationship with me even though I am miniscule in the scope of time and space. You planned for me, formed me, and keep me close to You. Thank You, Father, for choosing me to know You. You are the God of the universe and God of my heart. Keep me Yours, Lord. Keep me Yours. I lift up my praise to You! I wait for Your presence and Your reply. Thank You, Father, for being so real to me, so close to me, and covering me. Your grace and mercy cover me, Father. Thank You. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM watching over you and covering you, My child.
Response: Thank You, Almighty God and Father.
