Luke 2:4-7
“And Joseph also went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the town of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David.”
“To be enrolled with Mary, his espoused (married) wife, who was about to become a mother.”
“And while they were there, the time came for her delivery.”
“And she gave birth to her Son, her Firstborn; and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room or place for them in the inn.”
God made Himself flesh so He could take away the sins of the world.
The story of the very first Christmas was humble, yet the most powerful and loving birth ever recorded in history.
All humanity changed in an instant.
When Jesus was born, love filled the earth.
Love came down and lifted us up.
The angels came to tell the shepherds of this beautiful birth.
The stars in the heavens also told the story.
As we do all tasks that we do to ensure a beautiful Christmas day, may we remember the miracle that God sent long ago.
The miracle of all miracles.
The miracle that would restore the relationship between God in the heavens and us humans.
We would once again be able to sit in the Lord’s presence.
His Holy Spirit would come to reside in our spirits.
We would be One with Him again.
Today I am so very grateful that Jesus was born to Mary and the world was changed forever.
May you find a few precious moments to praise the Lord for His plan to reestablish love here on this earth.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your grace and mercy as You sent Your Son to be born this day so long ago. Thank You for creating the perfect plan to save me and all people from our sins. Thank You for this beautiful story we read about and tell every year at this most special time of year. Even inside of the chaos of this world Your grace and love shine through to us. You gave us the Holy Star to view this Christmas; a message of Your continued love for us. Thank You, Father, for always making a way for us to see You and feel Your love. Thank You for Your tender mercies in each new day. Help me see You in all that I do today. Help me feel Your strong arms lifting me closer to You. Help me hear Your gentle whispers this day of all days. Thank You, Father, for Your tender care of me and the family You have given me day after day. Help me bless someone today. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
