Daily Word:
Luke 24:49
"And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high."
Jesus had been crucified and had risen from the dead.
He was meeting with His disciples one last time before He rose into heaven.
His instructions were, "remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high."
As I read this last command of Jesus, I was struck with a couple of words.
"Remain in the city".
They were to stay put, not go spread the Word, keep quiet, "until you are clothed with power from on high."
Sometimes I forget the POWER that Jesus is referring to in this last verse.
Jesus said they would receive the promises that God had made, but they were to not do anything until they received the POWER.
This is an amazing message for us still today.
Until we are equipped with the POWER, we should do nothing.
We can be equipped any time that we take time to receive the POWER.
But I believe that unless we take the time to spend with God and get equipped, we should remain quiet.
Taking the time to equip ourselves with His POWER is the most powerful thing we can do.
Sometimes when the chaos ensues around us, we feel we have to do something.
But until we are equipped it will be in vain.
There is nothing that our God cannot do.
Today I choose to remain silent until I am fully equipped with God's POWER.
May you find that all of God's promises are granted to you, and that His POWER is yours at just the right time.
Blessings be to you!
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, You are Almighty and All Powerful! You are God of all and of everything that I see. You are Creator. You are Majesty! You are greatly to be praised! Help me praise You all day long, Lord. Help me look unto the heavens and praise Your Name! I long for the day that I can worship You in heaven. Until then, keep my eyes on You Lord. Keep my eyes on Your Majesty and Greatness. You, the Creator of all, watch over me. I am nothing, and yet You continue to care for me in every way. I bless Your holy Name! Thank You, Father, for all that You do and all that You are. Help me walk into Your will, Lord. Keep me from my own desires. Put Your desires in my heart and mind so that I do Your will. Equip me with all that I need to fulfill Your desires for my life. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
