Daily Word:
Hebrews 8:10 and 12
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
“For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.”
God’s mercy amazes me.
I am not fully able to comprehend how wonderful and awesome His mercy is.
Google’s definition of mercy is: compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.
God definitely has the power to punish.
He chooses not to.
He chooses mercy, compassion, and forgiveness over punishment.
How great a love is that?!?!?
He chooses grace.
He chooses love.
His love reaches down and covers us completely.
Verse 12 says, “I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.”
He chooses forgiveness.
He sees us as unblemished.
He does this so He can love us completely.
I am convicted of the sins I remember both about myself and others.
If I am unable to forgive completely I cannot love completely.
If I continue to roll my sins and those of others in my mind I cannot offer forgiveness to myself or others.
Today I choose mercy and grace over punishment, and will forgive myself and others for their past sins.
May you find that mercy and grace are fully given to you, and that you can fully offer it to yourself and others.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for sending Your Son so that You could enter into a New Covenant with me. Thank You for Your unending mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Although You are all powerful and Almighty and have the power to punish me for all of my sins, You choose to forgive me. You choose mercy. You choose grace. You choose to love me and see me as unblemished. Thank You, Father. Please help me to forgive myself and love myself as You love me. Help me to forgive the sins of others, Lord, so that I may truly love them. May Your unconditional love flow through me to others. Help me abide in You today, Father. May Your mercy and grace be upon me. Help me feel Your presence throughout this day. Help me bless someone today, Lord. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: My covenant is for you and for all people which I provided through the sacrifice of My own Son.
Response: Help me to hold Your Son’s sacrifice in complete reverence and abide in You today.
