Ephesians 4:15
Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed one).”
Truth.
A difficult concept to live by.
Is it easier to tell a lie than the truth?
Sometimes it is.
Why?
I believe it is shame.
We are ashamed.
Ashamed of what we do.
Ashamed of what we have done.
Ashamed of who we are being.
Paul tells us to “lovingly express truth”.
Truth in this passage means “speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly”.
How do we do this if it is so hard?
Paul talks about love.
Living our lives in love.
Living our lives enfolded in God’s love.
When we allow ourselves to be fully seen by God and He loves us despite our faults and failures, we can start to live in truth.
Of course, the truth is that the Lord already fully sees us.
And He loves us before we can fully give ourselves to Him.
As we allow Him to love us, we become enfolded in His love so deeply that we start to believe we are worthy.
Worthy to be loved.
And worthy to love.
Worthy to be seen.
Worthy to be ourselves.
As we love others and are loved by God, then our actions can be true.
We can live our lives truthfully in all ways.
Paul says this is growing up.
This is part of the process of growing up.
Today I choose to allow myself to be fully loved by God and live truthfully in all ways.
May you find the Lord loves you immensely, and His love will allow you to live in truth with Him, yourself, and others.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for continuing to impart Wisdom into my soul. Thank You for showing me that allowing me to be seen by You and fully loved by You gives me the power to live in truth. Help me give every part of my heart and soul to You, Father. Help me be honest with You and with myself. Fill every crevice of my heart with Your love, Lord. Fill me to the brim so I may love others as You love them. May Your desires be my desires. May my eyes see what Your eyes see. Put compassion in my heart and help me be obedient to You, Lord. Help me pray for others as You need me to pray. May we all allow ourselves to be fully seen by You. Help us allow You to enfold us in Your love so we may live in full and open truth. As we receive this gift, we are able to give it to others. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: You are My handiwork, and I see you and love you as My own.
Response: Help me be all You want me to be, Lord, as I fully give myself to You.
