Finding Pasture

John 10:9-10
“I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely] and will find pasture.”
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
I have read these verses so many times over the years and each time they seem to have a different meaning.
Maybe more meaningful today than other days.
With the world wrapped up in chaos and unsettledness, finding pasture seems wonderful.
Freely going in and out of pasture seems even more wonderful.
I think about grazing in the grasslands.
The picture in my mind looks like soft grass along a large meadow while I slowly stroll through the greenery as the sun warms my skin.
How lovely.
Finding a moment of peace and being in nature sounds wonderful.
Jesus says we will find this sense with Him.
Our spirits need tending probably more than our bodies in these days and times.
We need to take a few moments, or more, and allow our spirits to become one with His.
He will repair our hearts, minds, and souls.
He will provide peace in the storms of life.
He will cover us and protect us.
The enemy is after us for sure.
This is his time to stir up all the chaos in our lives and the lives of those whom we love.
He is trying to steal the lovely peace and joy we have in Christ.
However, the Lord has already won the battle.
We need His strength more than ever to win the battle in our minds and spirits.
Jesus said, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
We can intentionally choose what Jesus came to give us.
Or we can succumb to the enemies’ advances.
Today I choose Christ and His promise of joy, peace, contentment, and love so much so that it overflows in my soul.
May you find the Lord is close to you and is giving you pasture, peace, and joy in abundance this day and every day.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your promise of enjoyment in this life. Thank You for Your promise of abundant and overflowing joy. Thank You for sending Your Son to this earth so that I may have peace and find pasture in Your Spirit. Help me choose Your peace over chaos today. You have won the battle over the enemy and I am in Your care. Thank You for watching over and protecting me and the family You have given me. Thank You for Your abundant provision for us even during difficult times. May I freely come to You each day and be fully restored in Your presence. I praise You, Father! I praise Your name! May my heart always rejoice in You no matter the circumstances that surround me. Help me see You and Your love for me, Lord. Keep me Yours all the days of my life. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: You will find peace and love in My presence, My child, and My Spirit is upon you.
Response: Thank You, most gracious and merciful Lord.
