Isaiah 40:29, 31
He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power, they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
There is a lot going on in each of our busy lives every day.
Sometimes the busyness becomes overwhelming.
We feel tired and burdened.
And the prospect of tomorrow looks much the same.
God sees every moment of our lives.
He knows when we are weak.
He knows when we are in pain.
And He feels the weight of our burdens.
Just as I see my sons’ burdens, God sees us.
He is there to help us.
However, He can’t help us if we don’t let Him.
As my children grew older, they wanted to be more and more independent.
They wanted to start doing things for themselves sometimes before they were ready.
I would watch them struggle.
And if I stepped in to help them without asking them, they became angry.
God will never step in if we don’t invite Him to.
He is standing by waiting for us to ask for His help.
And these verses assure us that He will.
Sometimes I am completely worn out, exhausted, and wildly frustrated before I finally ask God for help.
But when I do, He gives me strength where I had none.
He draws me closer to Him.
He takes away my weariness.
And then He puts me on a faster pace than I could have managed on my own.
Today I choose to set my sight on God and expect that He will renew my strength in all ways.
May you find that as You seek the Lord, He will renew your strength and help you to do all you need to do with ease.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for the encouragement we find in Your Word. Thank You for reminding us that You work in every circumstance of our lives. Help us give all our cares, burdens, difficulties, trials, and temptations to You. Help us seek You in all circumstances and situations. Help us know that You will work everything out for our good and Your glory as we play our part in Your perfect plan. May You refresh and restore each of us as we have need. Thank You for Your promise of renewing our strength. You help us run and not be weary. Your strength will carry us through all You require of us. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
