II Corinthians 7:6
But God, Who comforts and encourages and refreshes and cheers the depressed and the sinking, comforted and encouraged and refreshed and cheered us by the arrival of Titus.
God sees our hearts.
He knows when we need encouragement.
And He provides it just when we need it most.
Paul writes about the encouragement he received from Titus when he needed it.
We see how merciful and gracious God is through our verse today.
Paul sees God in such a beautiful way.
He sees the Lord as the God Who comforts us.
The God Who encourages us.
The God Who refreshes us.
And the God Who puts cheer in our hearts.
I need some of these things most every day: comfort, encouragement, refreshment, and cheer.
And I’m sure you do too.
When I consider the gifts God provides, I understand more clearly that our God cares deeply for us.
Think about who offers you comfort, encouragement, refreshment, or cheer in your life.
It’s likely someone who dearly loves you.
Someone who cares deeply for you.
God cares even more.
Sometimes God uses the special people in our lives to meet our emotional needs.
Sometimes we find what we need in the Bible, or in prayer time, or we hear a gentle whisper from God.
Sometimes God even uses a bumper sticker which has actually happened to me.
Whatever way God chooses to care for us, He is a BIG God, and He will supply our needs.
Today I choose to be encouraged and refreshed in the Lord as I expectantly wait upon Him.
May you find the Lord encourages and refreshes you in the perfect way for you!
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for encouraging and comforting us as we have need. Thank You for cheering us up when we feel like we are sinking. You may use our loved ones, a circumstance, a special blessing, Your Word, or a gentle whisper to fill our hearts with hope. Thank You for the perfect way You care for us. Don’t let us miss You, Father. Help us see You everywhere. Keep our eyes on You when we feel hurt, dismayed, or neglected. Help us lean into Your love when this world fails us. You are the God Who fills our hearts with love, joy, and hope. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: I AM with you and will care for all your needs. Trust in Me.
Response: Thank You, most merciful and gracious God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
