Mark 15:43
“Joseph, he of Arimathea, noble and honorable in rank and a respected member of the council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, daring the consequences, took courage and ventured to go to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.”
God always has a plan.
In this passage His plan was to care for the body of His Son.
Jesus hadn’t made plans to care for His physical body either before or after His death.
But God did.
Prior to His death, Mary anointed Jesus with a costly perfume.
And after His death, God sent Joseph.
Joseph was a member of the highest Jewish authority at the time.
This council convicted Jesus of blasphemy which led to His death.
God called Joseph to take care of His Son’s dead body even though he was a part of this council.
Joseph went against the court for even asking for His body.
He could have lost his position in the court or worse.
But the Lord’s plan was to use him.
Joseph approached Pilot to ask for the body even though he was afraid.
Our verse says he was “daring the consequences and took courage.”
He bought the linen to wrap Jesus’ body in and proceeded to take Him down from the cross.
He placed Him in a previously purchased tomb.
God had made a plan to care for Jesus’ physical body when no one else did.
And just as we find ourselves in helpless or hopeless situations, the Lord has His plan to care for us.
We may not know what it is, but He will send just the right person at just the right time to take care of us and our needs.
God is just that great.
We can hope in Him even when all hope is lost.
Today I choose to be thankful that God has all the circumstances of my life worked out and planned for.
May you find the Lord is taking care of every circumstance in your life today and every day.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for taking care of every circumstance in my life. Thank You for sending just the right person at just the right time to help me in difficult situations. Father, I do not know what Your plan is, but I do know You have one. Help me hope and trust in You no matter what a situation looks like. May you strengthen and give courage to the person You send to help me. May they walk powerfully into Your perfect plan. Father, I pray You give me courage and strength to be used to help another as well. Send me to help those in need. Prepare me in every way. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM with you My child and I have a plan to take care of you in all circumstances and all situations.
