God is Able
Genesis 18:13-14
“And the Lord asked Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I really bear a child when I am so old?”
“Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes around, I will return to you and Sarah shall have borne a son.”
Sometimes I find myself responding to the Lord as Sarah did with laughter and unbelief.
She overheard God’s conversation with Abraham, and it seemed to border on the ridiculous.
God told Abraham He would return when Sarah had her child.
How could she, at her age, even consider a child to be in the realm of possibility?
But the Lord’s response to her laughter and unbelief was truly divine.
“Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord?”
I was convicted as I read God’s response because there is nothing too hard for the Lord.
He has shown Himself Almighty and miraculous in the Bible and in my life.
So, why would I think He isn’t capable of doing the impossible today?
He can.
He is Almighty.
He has everything at His disposal.
All resources are His.
He has abundance even when I experience lack.
He is strong when I am weak.
And He is powerful even when I am pitiful.
No matter what the circumstances look like, He is the Great Designer.
He can make miracles inside of my nothingness and inability.
So, today I choose to believe in God’s ability and not take notice of my inability.
May you find the Lord is able to do great things through you even when it seems impossible.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for reminding me You are able. Thank You for reminding me You have designed my life perfectly. You make all things come to pass as You have planned. Help my unbelief, Lord. Increase my faith in You. Help me hear Your gentle whispers and be obedient to Your call even when I don’t know understand how You will work all the circumstances out. May Your will be done. May You reach down and lift me up. Keep me reaching up to You, Father. Keep my eyes on You today. Help me deny myself and fully accept Your will. Help me serve with joy. Fill my spirit with hope. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I have great plans for you My child and will make them all come to pass as I have promised.
Response: Strengthen and equip me in all ways to fully serve You, Lord.
