Mark 14:18 and 20
“And while they were at the table eating, Jesus said, Surely I say to you, one of you will betray Me, [one] who is eating [here] with Me.”
“He replied to them, It is one of the Twelve [apostles], one who is dipping [bread] into the [same deep] dish with Me.”
Jesus was having His Last Supper with His apostles.
He knew one of them would betray Him, and He knew who would betray Him.
Yet Judas was still invited.
Typically, when there is an enemy in our midst we try to cut the relationship off.
We no longer associate with them.
But Jesus not only congregated with Judas, He shared the sacrament with him.
Judas was even allowed to dip his bread in the same dish as Jesus.
So, Jesus literally shared the new covenant with him.
There was nothing spared in the traitor’s presence.
Judas played an important role in Jesus’ apprehension and ultimate death on the cross.
As I read through this chapter, I saw God uses everyone for His purpose.
There have been many times that I have been offended by people in my life.
I couldn’t understand why God used someone to cause insult or harm to me.
There are many instances I still don’t have a reason.
But I must know God had a reason.
His plan is at work even when I cannot fully see it.
I must simply trust Him.
I must trust Him over my own reasoning.
I must trust Him when it doesn’t make sense.
Today I choose to look to God and know His perfect plan is in place and ask He instill more faith into my soul.
May you find as You trust Him, He will show Himself faithful to you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for showing me Your plan is perfect even when it may seem difficult for me. Thank You for showing me You use every person for Your ultimate glory. Help me not be so quick to judge others, Lord. Help me offer grace as You offer grace. Help me be tolerant of those around me who don’t seem to be aligned with Your will. You are Lord over us all, and we serve Your purpose not our own. Help me be willing to bend to Your, Lord. Keep me seeking You. Help me do all You ask me to do, Father. Help me be obedient to Your every whisper. Help me serve those around me with joy and know You are the reason I am able. May Your peace be upon me, Lord. May Your grace overflow. May my heart fully align with Yours, Father. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: My will is perfect and will be done, always.
Response: Help me bend to Your will, Father, in all circumstances and at all times.
