Psalm 127:2
“It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil – for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.”
As I read this verse today an arrow pierced my heart.
I have been working extraordinarily hard as of late.
I have become frustrated, tired, and negative in the last few days.
And then I find this scripture in my reading for today.
A miracle, really.
Only the Lord knows how I read His Word.
And only He knew I would be reading this passage on this particular day.
So, I take heed.
The Lord is saying slow down.
He is telling me His perfect timing is at hand.
He will carry my burdens.
He will smooth out the difficulties.
He will forge the road before me.
He will bless me while I sleep.
My role is to have faith in Him.
My role is to give Him my concerns, frustrations, and roadblocks.
Then He will work everything out according to His plan.
The very next verse in this Psalm is about children.
Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
I adore my children who are now young adults.
The Lord shows me what is really important – family.
Our children are true blessings from God.
My heart turns to thankfulness.
My demeanor changes as I become grateful.
Today I choose to be thankful for the family that the Lord has given me and believe that God is working through all my difficulties.
May you be thankful for your loved ones and know that the Lord is watching over you and working and blessing you while you sleep.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for showing me what is truly important here on this earth. Thank You for the family You have given me. Thank You for blessing us in all ways. Thank You for the beauty in my children’s eyes. May You continue to watch over, protect, and provide for us especially in these difficult times. Help us give our difficulties to You, Father. Help us give our work to You so that You may bless our work. Help me give up the frustration and stress that has come upon me. Help me give You all my cares so that You can do what only You can do. May Your peace be upon me today, Lord. May Your mercy flood my soul. May I sit at Your feet and find rest. Help me bless someone this day, Father. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I AM the Great I AM and I AM working in all of your circumstances, My child.
Response: Thank You, Almighty God and Father.
