Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.”
An offer made by a King.
The King who offers to commune with His people.
All His people no matter their stature.
I am continually amazed the Lord offers Himself to us.
In fact, our passage tells us He stands at the door of our hearts and knocks.
He is a Gentleman.
Always a Gentleman.
He will not walk through the door unless it is opened.
He will not burden us if we are not receptive to His call.
A King Who is humble.
Humble even in His approach to us.
When we open the door, He invites us to sit down and have sustenance with Him.
To eat with a King.
This is such a beautiful image in my mind.
A true fairytale.
The Lord, our God and King, invites us to His table.
I long to be in His presence.
And yet, we have the opportunity to sit in His presence even while here on this earth.
Jesus said, “if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in.”
So, I pray I will hear Him knocking.
I pray I will listen to Him and obey His voice for He gave me a strong will.
I pray He bends my will to His.
I pray He softens my heart and fills me with compassion.
I pray He makes me completely His.
As He changes me, the meal He offers become more grandiose.
The meal is sweeter and fills me to the full.
Today I choose to listen for the King Who is knocking and give Him full reign of my heart and mind, so I may be invited to His table for a meal that fills my soul.
May you find the Lord is knocking at door of your heart inviting you to a meal at His table.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, Thank You for knocking at the door of my heart. Help me hear You and open the door for You to speak to my spirit. Help me obey You as You lead me closer to You. Bend my will to Yours, Lord. Help me do all that You have for me to do. Show me more of You, Father. Teach me more of Your ways and help me be more like You. Thank You for inviting me to Your table, Lord of Lord’s and King of King’s. May I dine with You today. You fill me up to the full until my cup runs over. Thank You, Father. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I welcome you to My table My child and will fill your spirit with Mine.
Response: Undeserving of Your love and gracious care of me, thank You, Almighty God and King.
