Lazarus is Dead
Daily Word:
John 11:14-15 and 25
“So then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead,”
“And for your sake I am glad that I was not there; it will help you to believe (to trust and rely on Me). However, let us go to him.”
“Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live.”
Ah, we know this story well.
Jesus had gotten word that Lazarus was sick.
He stayed where He was for another two days because He had a plan.
He was going to use this situation as a tool to help instill more belief in the disciples, Mary, Martha, and those close to them.
He knew that Lazarus would die and, yet, He waited.
He stayed away.
He was waiting for the perfect time and opportunity to help everyone who was involved grow stronger.
In fact He told the disciples He was glad He wasn’t there to save Lazarus.
The circumstances were perfect for a miracle.
When Jesus arrived at Martha and Mary’s home, Martha told Jesus that if He had come sooner her brother wouldn’t have died.
Jesus’ reply was, “I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life”.
He was getting ready to show them a miracle.
Even inside of all of their doubting He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead.
And so He did.
God may be waiting to give us our miracle.
He may be waiting for the perfect circumstances to all line up so that He can show us His Might and Power.
He is the “Resurrection and the Life”,
and there is nothing we can do stop His wonder working power when the time is perfect.
Today I wait upon Him to work out all the circumstances in my life so that He can perform the perfect miracle at the perfect time.
May you find that God’s plan for you is perfect and that He has many miracles in store for you in His perfect timing.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for showing Yourself Almighty and all Powerful. Thank You for showing me that Your Son is the Resurrection and the Life. Thank You for every miracle He performed that I read about in Your Word as it strengthens my spirit and my faith in You. Help me know that Your will is perfect and that Your timing is perfect for every circumstance in my life. Increase my faith even further, Lord, so that I can remain calm in the storms of life. I want to rely completely on You, Father. Help me see that everything that is happening right now is in Your perfect plan. Help me wait upon You and not rely on my own understanding. You are Great and Mighty, indeed. There is nothing You cannot do! I praise You and Your Son, Lord. I praise the wonderful works of Your hands! Help me bless someone today. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: You can rely on Me for everything, My child, as I instill more faith in you.
