Hebrews 7:22 and 25
In keeping with [the oath’s greater strength and force], Jesus has become the Guarantee of a better (stronger) agreement [a more excellent and more advantageous covenant].
Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.
The old covenant is the Law given to Moses for the Israelites.
While it served the people for about one thousand five hundred years, Jesus offers a new covenant.
He is our Guarantee.
Our Guarantee of eternity.
And He is always interceding on our behalf.
He covers us and our sins.
I remember when I covered up things as a child.
I have a twin sister whom I love very much.
When we were children and she didn’t want to do the dishes on her dish night, I’d do them for her because I didn’t want her to be in trouble.
I was the compliant one – at least in our younger years – so covered for her because I loved her.
Even today, I do my best to help if she needs anything, and she does the same for me because we share a special bond.
This is how Christ is with us only in a much larger scope.
He covers our sins.
He petitions the Father on our behalf asking for good things for us.
He feels our pain and sorrow and comes to our aid.
He saved us as He died on the cross to assure us eternity.
And He saves us every day of our lives.
Today I am thankful for Jesus’ love that spans forever and will hold us up when we need Him.
May you find Jesus is at your side every moment of today and for all your tomorrows.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to this earth to save us from our sins. Thank You for allowing Him to be the final sacrifice to make us righteous in Your sight. Thank You for His constant intercession for us as we journey through life. May we draw closer to You through Him, Father. May we take the time to sit with You and commune with You. Help us receive the love You have for us, Lord. Heal and restore us as we sit with You. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
