Rejection

Luke 13:31-32
At that very hour some Pharisees came up and said to Him, Go away from here, for Herod is determined to kill You. And He said to them, Go and tell that fox [sly and crafty, skulking and cowardly], Behold, I drive out demons and perform healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish (complete) My course.
We don’t always think of Jesus as having enemies, but He had many.
He never backed down from them.
Many of His own people—the chosen people—rejected Him.
Rejection was real two thousand years ago, and it is alive and well today.
We can look at how Jesus responded to His enemies and learn from Him.
He saw Herod as a “fox [sly and crafty, skulking and cowardly].”
And He sent the message He’d continue to do His good works and had no plans of stopping.
I typically back away from confrontation and negativity.
But Jesus shows us differently.
He teaches us to recognize the enemy, and then continue doing good.
Continue walking out God’s plan.
We may experience some kind of rejection during the upcoming Christmas festivities.
Let us focus on the Lord and allow Him to cover us in peace as we take the hits that come our way this holiday season.
May we continue loving others as we are loved by God.
After all, He sent His Son to this world of hurting people who would kill His Son.
Grace was offered to us, so let us offer grace to others.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to save us from our sins. In Your grace, You sent a Savior to this broken world. May we fully accept the sacrifice He made and receive forgiveness for our sins. Help us hold these next two weeks as holy and reverent as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth. May Your peace surround us, Lord. May we do everything we do in service unto You. Keep our hearts soft toward You and our spirits full of joy. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: My peace is yours and My joy is in your hearts.
Response: Thank You, most gracious and merciful Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
