Daily Word:
Psalm 116:6
“The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He helped and saved me.”
Today I am thankful for the simple.
I am moved by simplicity.
The verse today brings verification to my heart and soul that He tends to and cares for the simple.
Our lives can get so complicated.
They can also get so busy that we are unable to find the simple.
And there are times we get so busy that we cannot see the beauty in the simple.
I am unable to find God in busy and chaos.
In fact, when I get too busy I cannot and do not find time to spend with Him.
He is the last thing I do instead of the first thing I do.
And sometimes the last thing I do doesn’t happen.
So there becomes a void in my relationship with the Lord.
He always finds a way to slow me down.
However, some of those ways are not enjoyable for me.
Over time I have learned that I find peace in simplicity.
I continue to try to simplify my life in every way.
I look for ways to simplify my life.
I am looking for a way to lessen the distractions from the most important, if not only important, thing I do.
Spending time with God.
I need to spend time with God because He changes me when I spend time with Him.
He prepares me when I spend time with Him.
He equips me when I spend time with Him.
I find His love when I spend time with Him.
Today I choose to be thankful for the simple things in my life and look to find the Lord in the simple beauty that surrounds me.
May you find God in the simple and see Him in the simple beauty that He created for you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, my God, thank You for Your Creation that I am so fortunate to partake of. Help me not miss You in the beautiful blue sky, the gentle breezes that blow, and the green fields and trees that reach for the sun. Thank You for all You do and all You are. Thank You for the beauty that surrounds me. Help me slow down this life long enough to seek You and find You. Help me continue to simplify my life so that I have time to spend with You. Keep me at Your feet, Lord, instead of at the world’s beck and call. If I get caught up in listening to the world’s voices, I become anxious, stressed, fearful, and uncomfortable. I only find peace in You. May I be Yours, alone, Lord. Keep me Yours. Keep me focused on You and give me the strength to do Your will. Equip me for Your service. Help me bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing my prayer.
Answer: I have created all the beauty you see, My child, and it is meant to be enjoyed, admired, and cared for.
Response: Help me see You in every beautiful thing You have created, Father.
