Philippians 1:6
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.
Paul wrote these words while being imprisoned.
He had every right to be forlorn and apathetic in his situation.
He didn’t have to write such a beautiful and encouraging letter to the Philippians, but he did.
He served God’s people as he spoke life into their lives.
He was grateful when he could have been angry and frustrated.
He followed God’s leading throughout his imprisonments and eventual death.
The word he wrote here are words which have since become a song because of their beauty.
The notion that God will continue the work He started in us is powerful and give us hope.
We are reassured that whatever is happening in our lives and our world today, the Lord will continue His work in us.
He will continue to mold and shape us.
He will continue to pour His Spirit into ours.
All the while He will continue to love us, have mercy on us, and bless us.
Paul’s words give us comfort today.
It is, however, our role to allow God to work on us and change us.
Sometimes when things get difficult in our external world, we tend to shut down.
We put ourselves and our own growth on hold.
I pray our hearts remain soft and open to God’s work in us.
Today I rejoice in the Lord knowing He is not finished with me yet.
May you praise God for His good work in you.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for continuing to mold and shape us into the people You desire us to be. Thank You for continuing to work on our hearts and souls. You will not leave us alone to struggle with the parts of us that are not Yours yet. Help us give You access to every part of our hearts, minds, emotions, and fears. May You lift us to higher ground. Do not let us close ourselves off to You as You reveal what still needs to come up higher. Help us see what You want to change and be moldable in Your hands. Please make us more like You, Lord. Help us love like You do. Help us offer mercy to others as You offer mercy. Help us be gracious as You are gracious. And help us forgive as You forgive. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: I AM working in and on every aspect of your life and will continue to do a work in you until you come home.
Response: Undeserving of Your time and attention, thank You Almighty God. Amen
