Slowing Down

Luke 8:15
But as for that [seed] in the good soil, these are [the people] who, hearing the word, hold it fast in a just (noble, virtuous) and worthy heart, and steadily bring forth the fruit with patience.
This is part of the parable Jesus told of the sower who sowed the seeds.
Our passage speaks to steadily bringing “forth the fruit with patience.”
There’s a gentle whisper here telling us to slow down.
And I wonder what things we can set aside so we can spend more time with the Lord.
More time meditating on the birth of His Son and truly taking in the glory of it all.
God send His Son for you and for me.
Let’s not miss it; any of it.
Our passage speaks about those who hold the Word in a “just (noble, virtuous) and worthy heart.”
May we hold these next few weeks holy and do what we do unto the Lord as we make all things ready to celebrate the birth of His Son.
Today I choose to slow down and reflect on the magnificence and humbleness of our Savior’s birth.
May you find peace in slowing down to reflect on the birth of God’s Son.
Daily Prayer:
O Lord, thank You for the beauty of this holy season. Thank You for the gift of a Savior. Don’t let us miss You or the reason for this season which is the reason for every season. Help us enjoy each moment You offer. May our hearts turn to You in thankfulness throughout this day. May we be grateful for every blessing You provide. Help us keep this space of time holy, Lord. Slow us down to enjoy Your presence. Help us bless someone this day. Thank You for hearing our prayer.
Answer: Take time to receive the blessings I offer you.
Response: Keep our hearts soft toward You and our minds focused on You so we can receive from You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
